The 'Queen of Forests', one of England's few remaining ancient forests covering over 27,000 acres of woodland. Designated a National Forest Park in 1938 it is bordered by the River Severn and the River Wye. This give the forest its stunning landscapes and spectacular scenery. The seasonal changes give rise to a vast array of flora and fauna with everchanging colours.  Bluebells in spring, lush green summers, spectacular autumns and the cool frosts of winter. So much to see and do all year round

The Dean Heritage Centre is housed at Camp Mill, surrounded by the wonderful woodlands of the Soudley Valley, in the Forest of Dean. This site was chosen by the Dean Heritage Museum Trust, the charity that runs the Centre, as its own unique history makes it the ideal place to tell the story of the Forest of Dean.
